New Seasons of Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa

Cartoon Network has announced that they are greenlighting more episodes of Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa. Both series are approaching their third seasons and they have been approved for a fourth and fifth season. No word yet on the air times of new episodes of both shows.

Toonami Announces More Episodes To Fooly Cooly

Toonami, the Cartoon Network Saturday night anime action block, has released this announcement:

“Toonami is proud to announce an original co-prodution with legendary studio, Production I.G, “FLCL” seasons 2 and 3! That’s right, we are producing 12 new FLCL episodes to be split into two seasons, and serve as a sequel to the original classic, FLCL! Stay tuned for more info when we have it!”

‘Nicktoons’ film in production

Paramount pictures have announced that they will be producing a feature film in the vein of ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ involving famous characters from Nickelodeon.

The film will feature characters from various Nickelodeon shows including ‘Rocco’s Modern Life’, Rugrats, Doug,Ren and Stimpy among many others. Star Trek coming back to T.V. in 2017

CBS has announced that Star Trek, the groundbreaking sci-fi series, is coming back to television in 2017.

Alex Kurtzman, who co-produced and wrote the two most recent Star Trek films, is overseeing the development of this new series alongside Heather Kadin who had worked with Kurtzman on various T.V. series including Sleepy Hollow and Limitless. The new series will be produced by CBS Television Studios in conjunction with Secret Hideout, Kurtzman’s production company.

“Happy Birthday” to be Public Domain, Maybe.

We all know the song. We sing it many times each year. We see it as one of many songs we can just sing and no one would care (like “This Old Man” or “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”) . Hell, we only sing four lines and three of those lines are the same words. Yet for years, many have claimed copyright of the song, with Time Warner currently  claiming ownership. However, a federal judge has declared that the song is in the public domain.
