Christine Cavanaugh Dead at 51

On December 22 2014, famous voice actress Christine Cavanaugh has died at the age of 51. No cause of death has been released. Her family has released this statement:

“Many know of her from the roles she played, but in each role there was a part of her showing through that the ones who truly knew her could see. The childlike awe of the world, humor to deal with the unpleasantness of reality, strength to deal with the challenges we all face, and intelligence to know when to act or accept what fate had allowed,”

Christine Cavanaugh was an active voice actress  from 1988 to 2001, she retired to focus on her family in the 2000s. She lived in Utah until her untimely passing.

Some of her noted characters include cowardly Chuckie Finster from Rugrats, boy genius Dexter from Dexter’s Laboratory, supportive Marty Sherman from The Critic, adventurous Goslyn Duck from Darkwing Duck, brainy Oblina from Ahhh Real Monsters, tough as nails Sue Bob Murphy from Recess, and finally Babe the pig to name a few.

Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones released this statement on his Facebook:

“Christine Cavanaugh was the heart of my most popular series. Without Gosalyn, Darkwing Duck would not have sold. And without Chrissy, Gosalyn wouldn’t have had the balance of sweet and mischievous that made her such a memorable character.”

We at Geek Juice Media want to give her family our condolences and we all thinking of the joy that all of her work has given us over the years.
