Comedian Robin Williams Dead at 63

Famed comedian and actor Robin Williams has passed away this morning at the age of 63. According to the press release from the Marin County Coronor’s office, the cause of death is suspected as “suicide due to asphyxia”.

According to Robin’s publicist:

“Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

Robin Williams is known for his comedic performances in such films as Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Morning, Vietnam. He also took a dramatic turn for such films like Dead Poets Society, Awakenings and Good Will Hunting, with him winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Good Will Hunting.

I will always remember Robin for his energy and fantastic comedic presence. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his
family and friends.

This is the only celebrity death that has ever had an emotional effect on me. I grew up with Aladdin, loved Dead Poets society, Good Morning Vietnam, Mrs. Doubtfire, and countless other films by him. This sucks.
