Another cast member has been added to Fox’s Batman prequel series “Gotham.”
Irish-Canadian actor Donal Logue will play the role of Detective Harvey Bullock, who is Gordon’s partner.
Deadline descibes Bullock as: Gordon’s rough-around-the-edges partner and mentor who plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results … and he does it with old-school, forceful panache
Louge had this to say to E! News
“I’m super excited. Gotham—it was weird, I’ve never been on a ride like that. It pre-dated SVU, I met them and talked to them and there was some weird internet rumor that I was playing Commissioner Gordon—he wasn’t the commissioner at the time—and I’m like, ‘I’m way too old, man!’ It was weird to be part of this kind of ongoing discussion that I was not in the mix of,” Logue told E! News. “It’s an exciting thing; it’s going to be here in New York. It’s one of those funny things where they’re super secretive, so you have to go to a secret place to read a script and give away your phone.”
Louge is a long-working actor. He got his start as a sitcom actor, his most famous role being that on “Grounded for Life.” However recently he started working in more dramatic shows such as “Sons of Anarchy” on FX, “Copper” for BBC America and “Terriers” for FX. His film credits include “Zodiac,” “Blade” and “Max Payne.”
“Gotham” will focus on the origins of Commission Gordon and the Gotham villians. Ben McKenzie has been cast as Gordon, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s butler; Zabryna Guevara will play Captain Essen, Gordon and Bullock’s boss; Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Gordon’s fiancél; and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, the man who will become the Penguin.
