The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that a Justice League movie is now officially in the works.
Greg Silverman, President of Worldwide Production for Warner Bros., broke the news to the paper. According to Silverman Zack Snyder is directing, a script is currently being written and Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot will return to reprise their roles as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
According to Silverman the upcoming Batman vs. Superman “will be a further expansion into the universe” and “lead into Justice League.” No release date has been set as of yet and the script is still being developed.
The Journal also reported that Warner Bros. is currently trying to decide what other heroes to add to the film. While there weren’t any insights as to who would be joining the team other then the already cast Cyborg, some key members from the Justice League comics include Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Aquaman.
In addition the article also briefly mentioned the possibility of a Wonder Woman film. If it does happen it won’t be until after the Justice League film.
“That is our hope. With the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her.” said Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Marketing Sue Kroll.
