Back to the Well for Sylvester Stallone

After the disaster of the 3rd Expendables film, Sylvester Stallone has plans for some familiar characters. According to reports, Rocky Balboa and John Rambo will be coming back to movie screens.

From his Twitter, Stallone announced Rambo: Last Blood as the title for the next John Rambo film. No word yet on the story or cast members. He is slated to write the script and direct. It will be the 5th film in the series.

His next Rocky project is the movie Creed. This movie will be about  Apollo Creed’s (Rocky’s former rival turned friend) grandson becoming a boxer and his trainer will be the Italian Stallion himself. Creed’s grandson will be played by Michael B. Jordan and the director will be Ryan Coogler. Both worked together on the critically acclaimed Fruitvale Station.

While Sylvester Stallone has announced these projects, he also announced an original project. He will be working on a film about gangster Gregory “the Grim Reaper” Scarpa. No word yet on any full release dates for any of the listed films.

I don’t know what to think about the gangster film. I liked the last Rocky film and I really didn’t think we needed another one, but Creed could be an okay film. I love the original First Blood and I wish they went with the original ending. I really wish that this wasn’t a series; because John Rambo is not an action character, he is a sad look on how a number of veterans were treated after the failure that was the Vietnam War. Also, what a stupid title. What is the next title going to be, John Rambo: Resurrected Reloaded Rebooted Reinflated 2.0 in 4D?

What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments.
