Fox Dates “Deadpool” Release and More

The long-awaited X-Men spinoff “Deadpool”  has finally gotten a release date, February 12, 2016.

Tim Miller will make his big-screen directing debut for the feature. No deal has been made yet, but fans hope Ryan Reynolds will return as mercenary with the penchant for witty banter.

Fox has shifted some other release dates. Fox has moved the video-game movie adaptation of “Assassin’s Creed”, starring Michael Fassbender, out of it’s Aug. 7,  2015 date.  The “Fantastic Four” reboot will replace it, bumped back from it’s originally slated June 19 release. No new release date for “Assassin’s Creed” has been planned, but expect that the film will be pushed back to 2016.

Fox has also moved “Paper Towns”, another John Green young-adult drama, from July 31, 2015 to an earlier date, June 19th.

“Fantastic Four” will go up against the Jack Black ‘Goosebumps’ adaptation, while “Deadpool” faces off Lionsgate’s “Gods of Egypt”.
