‘Snow White and the Huntsman 2’ Gets New Director

Frank Darabont, “Walking Dead” creator and director of “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Green Mile”,  is lined up to direct the sequel to the 2012 fairy tale epic “Snow White and the Huntsman”

Kristen Stewart will not be returning as the titular Snow White and if the character returns, it will only limited to a cameo or a brief handful of scenes. Instead, the sequel will focus on Chris Hemsworth as The Huntsman and as such, the sequel may drop “Snow White” from the title.

Chris Hemsworth’s career has lifted off since the 2012 original, thanks to his role of Thor in “The Avengers.” Charlize Theron is also set to return as the evil Queen Ravenna, but we’ll have to wait and see how she escaped from the magic mirror. Universal plans to release the sequel in 2016.

What do you think about dropping Kristen Stewart and hiring Frank Darabont? Is the Huntsman character worthy of a stand-alone film? Sound off in the comments!
