‘Nicktoons’ film in production

Paramount pictures have announced that they will be producing a feature film in the vein of ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ involving famous characters from Nickelodeon.

The film will feature characters from various Nickelodeon shows including ‘Rocco’s Modern Life’, Rugrats, Doug,Ren and Stimpy among many others. Jared Hess, the man who brought you Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre is set to direct the film and Jerusha Hess is co-writing. Mary Parent and Cale Boyter will be producing the film. The film will have a ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ vibe to it blending live-action with animation however the overall plot of the film is not known yet.

There have been rumors of a film adaption of Nickelodeon properties since last fall when Nickelodeon announced they were bringing back some their more cherished shows.

This is pretty cool news, this could be (if done right) the Millennial generation’s ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’.  I’m curious to see what the overall plot of the film will be and if they can get the original voice actors back to work on the film. I’m cautiously optimistic about the film and hope we get a basic plot outline sometime soon.

What do you guys think of a Nickelodeon feature film? Let me know in the comments
