In some unfortunate news today, Variety reports that award winning actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his apartment in New York. He was 46 years old.
Hoffman, known for his fantastic work as a character actor, won an Academy Award in 2006 for his portrayal of the title role in Capote. He’d also been nominated several times for awarads for his work in the films Doubt, Charlie Wilson’s War and The Savages.
At this time a cause of death is yet undisclosed.
I’m going to miss Phillip Seymour Hoffman. For me, some of his most memorable work has been in the films of Paul Thomas Anderson, a director whose filmography I recently watched and enjoyed again. Today certainly is a very sad day.
