Slayer Releases New Song

512Thrash legends Slayer released a new song entitled “Implode” on Thursday. This marks their first release of new material since the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman and the departure of drummer Dave Lombardo. Replacing Hanneman is Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, who has been playing with the band since 2011. Lombardo is once again replaced with Paul Bostaph, who replaced Lombardo back in 1992 when he left the band the first time.

“Implode” will be on the still untitled new album from Slayer. Fans who wish to download the track can do so via Slayer’s website. While I am personally not the biggest Slayer fan around I can’t deny the impact that they have had on the metal world, especially in the thrash metal field. Listen to the new track below and let us know what you think in the comments!

I listen to music, write about music, and complain about new music…mostly.

My expectations weren’t low enough. I’m a diehard Slayer fan and I’m not looking forward to this album at all.
