Trailer for Zach Braff’s Kickstarter-Funded Film “Wish I Was Here”

The first trailer for Zach Braff’s Kickstarter-funded film “Wish I Was Here” hit the internet on Wednesday.

In the film Braff plays a struggling actor, father and husband. When he is unable to pay the tuition for his children’s private school he decides to homeschool them. Through this journey the character “searches for his identity and purpose in life.” The film also includes Joey King, Kate Hudson, Mandy Patikin, Johh Gad, Ashley Green, and James Avery. “Wish I Was Here” was Avery’s final film role before his death this past December.

Braff also directed and co-wrote the script with his brother Adam. It’s his second film as a director, the first being the 2004 indie hit “Garden State.” Braff famously raised $2 million for the film via crowdsourcing.

“Wish I Was Here” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 18.
