Twin Peaks is Getting New Episodes

Filmmaker David Lynch has announced that the cult tv series Twin Peaks will be getting nine new episodes. They are to appear on Showtime in 2016. No new story lines have been release as of yet.

Developed by David Lynch and Mark Frost in the early 1990s. The show starred Kyle Maclachlan as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper as he investigates the death of a home-coming queen named Laura Palmer. Set in the fictional town of Twin Peaks, viewers watch as Mr. Cooper tries to find what killed her.

The show lasted for 2 seasons and a movie, titled Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. After being discovered on video and DVD, the show has gained a huge cult fan base.

The creators of the show have stated that their plan is to continue the story in the years after the show ended. It should take place in modern-day. The new Twin Peaks episodes will be directed by David Lynch himself. The new episodes will be written by Frost and Lynch.
