“Video Games: The Movie” Coming in July

Pong “Video Games: The Movie,” a documentary chronicling the rise of video games and it’s cultural impact is set to be released digitally and theatrically in July.

Directed by Jeremy Snead, narrated by Sean Astin and with Zac Braff attached as a executive producer, “Video Games: The Movie” details the history of video games from its early niche beginnings to a multibillion dollar industry that rivals the film industry. The documentary includes numerous interviews with past and present icons in the gaming industry including; Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari, Hideo Kojima, creator behind the “Metal Gear Solid” series, and Cliff Bleszinski, creator of “Gears of War.” The documentary was partially funded through Kickstarter, but Variance Films which will distribute the film.
