Welcome to Night Vale Tour 2015

According to their Facebook page, the creators of  the popular horror themed podcast Welcome to Night Vale have announced a 2015 tour. Tickets will go on sale starting the 23th of January.

Created by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor in 2012 and published by Common Place Books, Welcome to Night Vale is a popular podcast that takes the form of a radio news program. Cecil Gershwin Palmer (played by Cecil Baldwin) is the main character who reports on the day-to-day goings on in the southwestern city of Night Vale.

But the thing about the town is that it is where all conspiracy theories are real. It is the place where the spooky, the paranormal, and the just plain weird are the norm and Palmer couldn’t be more unfazed about it. From the mighty glow cloud, the dog park that no one should enter, and Cecil’s boss. What works for the show is how normal the main character feels about everything.

The show is also known for a section called “The Weather,” where the producers play a song by an independently published artist, like Joseph Fink, Adam Green, and Mary Epworth.

According to Common Place Books’s website the tour will last from March 26 to May 20 with over 20 dates listed. Live music will also play with Dessa playing March 26 to April 6 and Mary Epworth playing the rest of the tour. All tour dates are listed on the website.

I dig the podcast and going to a live show sounds enjoyable. They list a show in Washington D.C. that I may go to if I have nothing else I need to do at the time.

What do you think? Anyone else thinking of going to the show? If so, which location will you be watching the show.
