I think you’re confusing Auntie Mame with Gypsy.

Can’t wait to hear you talk about “Around The World in 80 Days”, “Bridge on The River Kwai”, “Ben-Hur”, “West Side Story”, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “Patton”, “The Last Emperor”, and “Schindler’s List” (My favorite Best Picture winners, ALL epic films).

I also hope to hear your thoughts on the undeserving “Greatest Show on Earth” (A movie that I think is OKAY), the pretentious “Crash”, and the MOST PRETENTIOUS, TELEGRAPHED/RIGGED winner in recent memory….”12 Years a Slave” (Don’t call me racist, but I feel that “American Hustle” or “WOWS” should have won).

Well we do talk about “Around the World in 80 Days,” “West Side Story”, “The Greatest Show on Earth,” “The Last Emperor,” and “Crash” all in this first part.

I should probably ask this on another page, but what happened to Scott MacArthur? Dude was awesome, and it seemed like this would be an episode he would’ve liked to be part of. I know he’s been working with some frequency, but his content output has screeched to a halt for most of a year.

So I look up the list alex used for this ep and without spoiling(too much) I agree with it more or less, #1 is out right wrong, but otherwise its an ok list. But the two things that stood out was that 1941’s How green is my valley is NOT at the bottom of the list(I know Kane is that great it kind of should but the film is that bad) and that the lowest film from the 70’s was mid forties.
I am looking forward to the next part since its the middle of the list and their for the most part “well someone had to win” and “its not a bad movie its just this movie should of won.”
As for last Oscars I agree it too early for a long view of the winner but I seen all 8 of the film that got a nod and if I was voting birdman was my vote and aside from boyhood if any of the other film won it would of been a snub to birdman IMO.
One last thing an idea for a follow up ep an over view of all the razzies “best” picture winners. Given all the “worst” films we as geeks love Mommie dearest, Rambo first blood part 2(which beat mac and me) hudson hawk etc I think you got a lot of gold there.
