Blacula (1972)

Ahh yes, yet another flick that got constant play in my house growing up. What happens when Dracula gets a little soul? This one is going to be a little long in the tooth, so bare with me. Get it? Long in the tooth, because vampires.

Yeah, I know. I’m lame.

“Carrie” and “Carrie”

I normally don’t compare the original vs the remake of anything as I feel that each movie should stand on its own merits and not in how it compares to something else. A Wide-Eyed Look at “Short Eyes”

This 1977 movie, Short Eyes, had a Blu-ray release this week and it was a film I’d never heard of. Always eager for something new, I watched the movie and it was one of those amazing “Why have I never seen this before today?” kind of moments.

The Horrors of “Women’s Camp 119”

Bruno Mattei made an enjoyable film with SS Girls – then he made Women’s Camp 119. There are two sides to the nazisploitation genre; there is the delightful and macabre fun of films like Ilsa; She-Wolf of the SS and Mattei’s SS Girls… the other side is, well, Women’s Camp 119.

Spending Time With Some “SS Girls”

After watching both Rats: Night of Terror and Hell of the Living Dead recently I’ve developed a desire to watch and re-watch a lot of the films of Bruno Mattei. Of course with going through the work of Joe D’Amato I’m watching quite a lot of Italian films lately. Luckily they are enjoyable movies. So if I’m going to do this, just watch a bunch of Mattei, might as well start with his first movie.
