AMC Thinking of Allowing Texting in Theaters

In an Interview with Variety, AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron had announced some new plans for the theater chain. Along with pans to buy the Carmike theater chain, he also mentioned that he was considering making some theaters safe spaces for texting and other mobile devices.

Bryan Singer Working on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

There are currently two different adaptations of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea – one from Disney with director David Fincher attached and now another one from 20th Century Fox with Bryan Singer attached to direct.  The classic tale of Captain Nemo and his submarine crew by Jules Verne has been in the public domain for some time with many different adaptations over the years, including the classic Disney adaptation from   1954 starring Kirk Douglas and James Mason.

‘Nicktoons’ film in production

Paramount pictures have announced that they will be producing a feature film in the vein of ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ involving famous characters from Nickelodeon.

The film will feature characters from various Nickelodeon shows including ‘Rocco’s Modern Life’, Rugrats, Doug,Ren and Stimpy among many others. ‘Battle Angel Alita’ film in the works

After many years of speculating whether a ‘Battle Angel Alita’ film would be made, It’s finally happening.

James Cameron, who had wanted to direct a film adaption of the well-known sci-fi  manga series for years, is on board to produce alongside Jon Landau and Robert Rodriguez is set to direct the live-action version . 20th Century Fox will be the studio backing the project.

“Happy Birthday” to be Public Domain, Maybe.

We all know the song. We sing it many times each year. We see it as one of many songs we can just sing and no one would care (like “This Old Man” or “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”) . Hell, we only sing four lines and three of those lines are the same words. Yet for years, many have claimed copyright of the song, with Time Warner currently  claiming ownership. However, a federal judge has declared that the song is in the public domain.
