Kurt Cobain’s Life to Become a Comic Book

Kurt Cobain, the late guitarist and singer for the band Nirvana, will be the subject of a comic book published by Bluewater Productions. This comic will be part of the company’s tribute line of comic books, which cover the lives of famous rocks stars. Previous issues have included John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison.

“The Tribute line of comic books tells the stories of people that have made a significant difference in the world while they were with us.” states publisher Darren G. Davis. He continues,  “It is a way for us to honor these people who have made a difference in the world. Not only is this a great way to understand the importance of [Cobain’s] contribution to music, but a great tool for kids to read about him in a different medium… Our biography comic books are now taught in schools and libraries for students and reluctant readers.”

Nirvana is widely considered the main driving force behind the early 90’s grunge movement with the success of their sophomoric album “Nevermind.” Their success was sadly cut short though with the suicide of Cobain on April 5th, 1994.

The Book is set to be released on April 2, just three days before the 20th anniversary of Cobain’s suicide. It will be available in print form for $3.99 on Comic Flea Market and is available for preorder in digital form on iTunes.
