RiffTrax does The Room

Recently, The master minds behind RiffTrax ( MST3K’s Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy) have announced their next planned tour dates. While a number of bad classics have been listed, the most noted title was Tommy Wiseau’s cult hit The Room.

Mike Nelson, the second host of Mystery Science Theater 3000, started RiffTrax after the show was canceled. Normally they record a funny commentary for a modern movie like The Avengers, The Hunger Games, and the Twilight films. Next, they sell them as downloads for their fans and then they play them along side the movie. After finding success with their downloads, the boys started going on tour and riffing various kinds of motion pictures.

The group has a recorded a commentary for The Room, it is for sale on their website. They have plans to lampoon the film on May 6 and May 12 2015 in Nashville Tennessee. All buying information is on the link below.

I had a chanced to see them live last December and I had work that day. I was I could have gone and I wish I could go to this. I have a copy of their live riffing of Edward D. Wood Jr.’s Plan 9 from Outer Space on DVD and it is a great watch. I also have never seen “The Room” in a theater before ether; so for me, this would fill two desires at once.

How many of you have plans to go to this? Let us know in the comments.
