“Uncharted” Film Coming in 2016

The film adaption of the critically acclaimed action adventure game “Uncharted” will be coming to theaters in June 10, 2016, according to Sony Pictures.

The film is to be directed by Seth Gordon, who also directed the video game documentary “King of Kong.” The current screenwriter for the project is David Guggenheim, and it will be produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner and Ari Arad. The film will be an Arad/Atlas Entertainment production. Right now, there is no actor pegged for playing the game’s protagonist, Nathan Drake, but Sony Pictures has been trying to woo Mark Wahlberg for the role for some time now.

The “Uncharted” franchise is an action adventure series for the Playstation 3 and focuses on the adventures of Nathan drake as he searches for lost treasures throughout the world.

The date for “Uncharted” release was originally set for “The Amazing Spider-man 3” but with the second film’s disappointing box office numbers, Sony seems to have reconsidered the release date, which won’t be until 2018.
